Christie Ison's Wins Inaugural LaunchPad Startup Competition

May 5, 2014

Christie Ison and her won the inaugural LaunchPad startup competition held Saturday as part of Toad Suck Daze in Conway.

Ison took home $15,000 for winning the LaunchPad, which entailed a three-minute pitch and a two-minute Q-and-A with event judges including the iconic hip-hop artist MC Hammer, otherwise known as serial entrepreneur/investor Stanely Burrell.

Ison went up against some established Arkansas startups including IA clients Eyenalyze, Y Combinator alum DataRank, Treatsie, ARK Challenge winner Overwatch and PBX. Other participating startups were Bourbon & Boots, Luke Irvin's talentt (fresh off a Governor's Cup appearance) and Pocket Dealer.

Impressive job for a startup less than three months old.
